Great edish, when I was in Year 8 I was part of our "engineering club", we got to build shitty lightweight robots in groups. Some had weapons, mine was just a Tornado knockoff without the spike.

We went to a Roaming Robots live event in Burgess Hill where we got to see the people we watched as kids drive their robots. The arena was pretty small but enough to give you a scale of how big the heavyweights really are. Behemoth and The Saint's teams were really nice and teams always help eachother in the pits do repairs and lend eachother tools. A real community spirit to it.

The lads that ran that club went on the Dara hosted TV series but they didn't run their "competitive" robot, I think they were made to use the funnier one that would look better on TV.
