If you could write a novel about any subject, what would your story be about, and who would the main character be?

Maybe something like unraveling a large corrupt organization that has escaped being uncovered for a long time, following the clues and stuff. A bit like the first season of True Detective, but not stopping with the first individual.

it would be about people and culture i think. the main character would probably be someone who learns about the new culture they live in, i think that would be a great way to learn about the culture from an outside perspective as we get to learn with the protag
