congrats, anon
now multiply your checking by 5 and youll have enough for new car
Thats fuck all lmao
I have about 2k in savings. Idk what to use it on.
I wanted to use it on a girl, but that is no longer an option.
Piling it up feels bad because of inflation so, what do?
This is kind of how my bank account looks too but in reverse, I only keep $2000 in my checking and shunt any extra to savings, but I'm gonna lose all my savings in a few months because I'm trying to buy a motorcycle and move out of my parent's place. Then I'll be lucky if I can even keep my checking at 2000.
In 2025, $8000 is like the equivalent of $800 10 years ago. It's really not that much anymore
anon, I stopped working for 2 months and spent 8 thousands dollars on toys and ski vacations this winter and I STILL have 13 thousand in my checking account.
The secret?
I live with my parents and don't pay rent
I got a paycheck today and have 10k in my saving account for the first time
the saddest part about this image is this kind of money could actually do things for you besides pay rent and buy food for a half a year tops
could actually do things for you
Then answer me
I have 30k in checking and 300k+ in savings. I retired a year ago at 30 years old and live off of recurring investment dividends.
Put half of it into a dividend-paying ETF fund of your choosing, and the other half into long-term bonds. Reinvest dividends into other dividend-paying stock automatically. Never touch the bonds.
Okay. I hope this makes me a million dollars in 40 years
It won't unless you keep putting in more liquid capital and strategize. However, with the bond money, your future generations (if you have children per your biological prerogative and teach them to invest) will be set to make the million, and their offspring millions more, and so on.
The man who derives his joy from planting a tree knowing he won't be alive to enjoy its fruits, this is the man who runs the world.
I think the state will take it all when I kill myself and don't have any heirs.
But having something to set me up for until then would be nice.
I am working so I might put more into it. Or I might blow it all on a PC or a phone or whatever slop.
Investing it does sound nice. I've never had this much money to my name.
the state will take it
Nah, you'll have some next of kin from bumfuck nowhere somewhere in your family tree find it on your state clerk site where they issue claimed estates.
I'm this anon It took me just over three years to get to this point. I started $18k in debt, homeless after being court-raped by my ex who took my son away, and paying child support.
It's fucking hard, I spent those three years working 60+ hours per week. But I'm fuckin' retired now at 31 and have no worries but to make more money with my money.
Dream big, anon.
About 20k for me rn and growing
damn bro nice ur rich
That's a lot of work. Congratulations, anon.
Not even 8 Grand
I made 11,000 in 1 month and used it on a down payment on a house.
I'd rather have my nice house than your chump change
Thanks, fren. The suicidal ideation doesn't go away, though. Still haven't figured that one out. I hope you can figure yours out.
if i just had 2k to blow id just buy gold, like a half ounce or so, that way you can sit on it and it wont depreciate and maybe even gain value against inflation, and you can always sell it when you actually need cash for something, plus you can look at it and admire its beauty and scarcity like a dragon with a nano-horde.
Grim.
Best of luck.
Maybe. Investing it could give more return tho.
I make about 3 dollars an hour and I am currently studying. So perhaps I keep saving until I graduate.
If you ever fall for the gold meme, make sure you buy gold bullion, not gold standard. Silver would be better, though, considering it fluctuates more drastically and can be purchased in higher quantities thus lowering your average purchase price, and increasing in higher exponents when there's a surge.
jealous, NEETfags? you'll never see this kind of money in your LIFE.
Yeah... about that...
Nigga you're 2 bad months away from poverty
dude I have 30 years' worth of debt aren't you jealous
lmfao, normgroids truly are insane
how much in the trustfunds, fellow Neets?
when my dad dies I will inherit 800k and when my mom dies I will get a house worth 1.5M
the crazy part is I wageslave anyways because I think working builds character. But I will never tell women about the funds. (I have been rejected for being poor before lol)
fellow Neets?
works
Keep coping
the crazy part is I wageslave anyways because I think working builds character.
That's smart
But I will never tell women about the funds.
That is also smart.
I just do it because otherwise I would end up dying before my parents and not enjoy the amenities (which you still failed to specify)
I will technically inherit a farm and 2 apartments.
But that's 20 years away at the earliest. Who cares?
You are a young fag. My dad has about 5 years left, but yeah my mom will probably live for another 15-20 years.
and even now I have a good amount of disposable income. My mother is selling me her 30k pickup truck for like 8k next year.
I am gonna use it to start my own business. Hope neeting serves you well, though. I am not even joking.
My neet older brother blew his brains out which is why I decided not to go that path
You are a young fag.
I am young. But my parents are just in good health for their age.
Better than my finances. I spend my money on frivolous shit
I stacked silver and some gold when it was cheaper than what it is right now.
yes I did escape neetdom but its a bit sad realizing the $100k you save after a few years and it still not enough for accommodation, the prices are going up faster than I can save. Yeah get a cheaper place, I will but I have noticed that most people can't buy in the place they grew up in.
What the fuck did you do in 3 years to get that much money?
the prices are going up faster than I can save
holy fuck this, it's so incredibly demoralizing seeing everything I want inflate away slowly. I can't afford a low-mileage used car. I will never afford a house. I can't even afford a nice trip. I've job hopped successfully and increased my salary every year since I graduated and yet every year prices go up slightly more than my raises.
If you're in the US, put it into a Roth IRA with some broad market index fund like the S&P 500 or Total World Stock and reinvest dividends.
The perk of the IRA is that you don't need to pay taxes while it's growing and you can pull out your contributions tax-free. If you're not in the US, other countries usually have similar accounts, like Canada and their TFSA
You got this off twitter
pfft
Ive spent more on the cashback of my credit card
um no 5k would pay rent, with a partner/roommate, for 4 months. utilities are a stretch. youd need so much more to invest in an education. much more. in the U.S.
