In nature it's kill or be killed. Dogs aren't evil, they are just hungry. Could they learn a thing or two from big cats and kill their prey before they start eating? Perhaps, but dogs are probably too small to do that. Big cats are strong enough to hold down prey and bite the neck until it dies. Dogs just can't do that. They cant even hold things down without using their mouths, unlike cats who have claws. It died painfully, but it died relatively quickly, and after a while bloodloss-induced shock eased the suffering
