That would require a literal revolution and redoing the constitution. Not out of the question but people are too busy watching TV and scrolling on social media.
not that it really matters anymore with what trump is doing, but the branches of the US government are supposed to keep each other in check. Without the execcutive branch there would be nobody to veto legislation that the house or senate try to pass. There would also not be anyone to appoint federal judges which is a whole hot topic in its own right.
The only group with even minor revolutionary potential in this country are the paleoconservative right wingers. And they're currently winning, so I don't see how that's happening.

Do you think mass movements just happen? There needs to be proper conditions for widespread political revolution like that. Unions in this country are weak and right wingers are getting what they want, fail to see what sorts of political upheaval could happen here.

Obama isn't really a politician. He's more of a celebrity. Nobody cared what his political positions were - they cared that he was black. It's hard to say what he really did for the country (is any of that stuff you listed his responsibility?) aside from releasing the worst public healthcare plan in any western country. I don't think he's nearly as bad as conservatives think, but he wasn't fantastic either.
Personally I'd love to get a president with the politics of Bernie Sanders or Huey Long, but since we're talking third terms...
