The reason why everything sucks is because our entertainment is no longer made by people like us. Furthermore, the people who make video games, tv shows, movies, etc HATE us with every fiber of their being. This is why everyone is obsessed with "classic" video games/movies/tv shows. Fuck this gay world and the faggots who ruined everything.

level 42 what a farkin NOOB

no retard. blizzard stopped being good when they were bought out, once investors made the decisions the games were shit. once investors controlled the film industry, the movies became shit. it is and always was capitalism. the reason why games and movies became woke is because capitalists weren't satisfied with just white men playing games they wanted to expand the markets

with just white men playing games they wanted to expand the markets

and how'd that work out

Same principle behind why indie games are considered so good and universally beloved, they are the last bastions of gaming that are actually made by the target audience

MtG: FFIX

dude u can still enjoy games just play the same games you played 20 years ago, 13 times over

Money isn't real desu, there's infinite money. People are going to push their personal beliefs into the things they create. WoW is the product of hyperborean aryan genius. And when that stock is replaced with a critical mass of women and nonwhites, the game dies. This bizarre communist crab in the bucket philosophy isn't tenable. I have no sympathy for the average person. They probably shouldn't have been born. Population controls and eugenics > Marxism.

The first release of hardcore classic was the funnest gaming ive had in a decade

those bars

that spec

that gear

no timers on buffs

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING

youre legit delusional. noone hates you except the orange rapist that is currently raping you

Being based

Being a Chadruid

Being a gamer

Meaningful leveling journey, bitch.

Gaming had a golden era where dedicated autists out of pocket and with their own time and collaberation with other dedicated autists would make a game from the ground up for people to enjoy, and then with that game's success they could finance future projects. Eventually though they run out of steam and sell to or just establish their own globohomo corporation, where the consoomer is no longer the target but shareholders are. Shareholder primacy has been the name of the game ever since ford decided to share a slice of the pie with his employees, which his shareholders all rebelled and legally forced him to actively de-prioritize employees in favor of the shareholders. Basically you will just see the odd passion project indie game pop up every once in a while before it either gets stamped out by jealous companies or bought out by the same jealous companies, because any money theyre not making is an affront to their ego because they could be making that money. Nowadays all game companies need to do is commit fraud by convincing the shareholders that their commercial failure products arent actually commercial failures

Playing like a retard with half the options turned off does not make the journey meaningful. Also:

level 12 healing potions at 42

offline solo servers

come home to turtle wow

I am aspocial but highly autistic and enjoy wow gameplay specifically for some reason, playing on wotlk gonna try and clear at least naxx 10 man

the reason turtle is based is that it adds some of the TBC era QoL class corrections and also adds a bunch of new areas/quests that actually FEEL like vanilla, so it greatly enriches the solo leveling journey. There ARE new 5mans and raids, but even if you never play them it is still the best classic experience.

That pic is from 2004 during beta.

Yeah, it's a random pic I found, it isn't mine. I tried playing a bit of retail and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm assuming it's too late to get into the 20th anniversary servers. Do you recommend I jump into classic now?

Most people are dumb goys and just consoom modern soulless slop anyway

Factorio is my favorite game. Yes I'm diagnosed with autism

You are what is wrong with society. Back in the day we just played and explored. "efficiency" killed the soul.

go back to 2016 boomer normalfaggot

sort of yeah, but once you've kinda explored most of a huge world like wow then all that's left is min maxxing the dps charts, and of course if you're in a kinda shitty guild and still want to kill dargons the better palyers had to optimize.

damned if you do, damned if you don't

2016? Dont you mean 2005?

DIE

ZOOMER

FAGGOT

EAT A SHOTGUN SHELL

Nobody talked about this in 2005 you idiot

Why would anybody talk about this in 2005? Are you retarded? They had not sold out their soul at that point you imbecile

Ban this bot

its a combination of that, women worming their way into everything and brown people and progressives who hate us getting into prominent positions. games and movies should exclusively be made by white men

Imagine not enjoying the journey of World of Warcraft and doing what some YouTube guide made by a Jeet told you to do to be "good".

That's the real reason video games aren't fun anymore. There's no mystery, no discovery, no playing it your way.
Here is a spreadsheet outlining the way to play to reach maximum efficiency. Don't try other things. You're stupid, bad, and ignorant if you do.

The only good thing about World of Warcraft Classic is the game itself, it's perfection. The population is monstrously different than it was 16-20 years ago, it's like the difference between a congregation of friends coming together to explore places they've never been before vs. Chinese efficiency bureaucrats following a formula to extract more value from sweatshop slaves. Joyless, soul-dead, miserable number gathering that never ends. I don't like what the world is becoming.

"efficiency" killed the soul.

How would they make the game without efficiency tho? Efficient gamers are downstream from efficient developers.

True. A huge chunk of the workforce is now made up of drug addicted, brain rotten zoomers, browns and women.

The only games I play nowadays

OSRS

Minecraft

Old school CoDs (cod 4 to black ops 2)

CIV 5

That's it. Gaming is dead.

loved this game until I was just boringly scraping the shattered planet for pointless reasearch. new game would mean id have to headache gleba again.

after ~35,000 hours the game has no adventure left, just the shortest way to finish gearing and avoiding shitty people

I have not played a game or patch to a game that was made later than 2010.

1331.jpg - 717x493, 69.28K

This is complete facts. It's the reason why I enjoy playing older games or indie games. There's so many good indie games coming out but it requires a lot of sifting. But man, I really wish we could go back to the days where there were actually good AAA games. Imagine what they could do with modern technology.

Money isn't real desu, there's infinite money

Now this one upsets me. What a lukewarm 105 IQ reddit take. Money isn't real. What money represents is real. You don't go to a construction say and say teehee inches aren't real just build whatever, then the devil may care attitude causes the building to fall over and kill everyone. Money is a core technology of civilization like fire or the wheel. And dismissing money as just an arbitrary symbol is a great way to forfeit all your blood and energy to people who are more savvy with money than you.

plenty of videogames are still made by people who actually play and enjoy videogames, anon. and don't forget china is making some absolute kino because they're vying for soft power in the west, and it's working.

The reason everything sucks is because

1

You got older and surrogate activities lose their luster, especially after you never downregulated

2

Content is mostly made by investment driven committee meant to appeal to everyone and thus no one

3

Compounding with the committee issue is bloat and mission creep. Old school was not only made by 'outsiders' but also small teams of outsiders

4

Modern people are more neurotic than they were 20 years ago. 9/11 created a psychic scar that will never heal. Nobody takes their time and enjoys things at a steady pace because of this, but also because most games centeral gameplay loop is just mindless grinding rather than teamwork and comradery.

Skyrim, while far from perfect, is popular because you move at exactly your own pace and style, there is no 'optimal' way to play, and it has a watercooler quality that anyone can pick up play discuss and enjoy it.

Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game

it never gets less true.

bro I clicked some buttons on a computer in 2010 and now I'm worth $15 million. money isn't real.

If money isn't real send me all your savings.

I'm interested in this take. What about the events of 9/11 turned everyone into hyberbots?

I'm old enough to remember that the world was different before 9/11. There are always moral panics, or just panics. Before 9/11 in the 80s and 90s it was the satanic panic. Everyone was convinced there was baby eating devil worshippers hiding around every corner even though there was never a lick of evidence ever. 9/11 was worse. The flames worry and panic were fanned by Uncle Sam himself. People were kept constantly on edge with news about war, terrorists, imminent danger. It really wasn't unlike Covid lockdowns. People stopped being as neighborly. Be were less relaxed and more 'prepared' for something to go wrong. If that makes any sense.

I lived in a nice neighborhood. There were open block parties, you could enter people's houses for Halloween for little haunts, everyone knew everyone. That vanished after 9/11. Absolutely nothing else about my childhood neighborhood changed. People changed. People used to not be on edge. They used to not be worried about making ends meet or what might go wrong.
