My wife and I are on our second pregnancy, only about nine weeks now. First kid was born last year in January.
Yes, I rubbed the belly, she didn't start showing until she was probably 20 week or so, by week thirty she was very obviously pregnant. My now born daughter really liked to curl up sideways, so her head would be pressing on the side of my wife's belly and it just felt really hard. During the later weeks you could see her move around in there, usually just a bulge that would suddenly shift or dissapear.
More profound was the ultrasounds, seeing a like human in ther was pretty crazy and it would often make me tear up a bit.
Honestly, it didn't really hit until she came out(C-section), then it really hit all at once, and in that moment I experienced the most drastic change in my life and also the happiest moment thus far.
Pretty much my experience as a dad, hope your marriage works out better than mine did though.
Mine was a pretty standard one. I got bigger in the waist, hips, chest, etc. by enough that I had to get rid of a lot of clothes, I ate a lot of dill pickles because I was craving them, my feet got bigger, and once the baby got far enough along she started kicking an awful lot.

im a biofem nurse and most preg women smell like pure shit, like sweat, urine and grease overall, there are few women who truly look good or smell good when preggo.
Like a labor/delivery nurse? It seems very unusual for an expecting mom to go out in public or even go to an ultrasound appointment smelling foul but that is just my thought I don't have anything to back it up.
I think it's because of how tired you get. I know by 35 weeks I was fucking toast. trouble moving, exhausted, wearing the same clothing all the time because nothing fits, just waiting for it to be over.
I hope you had some maternity leave :( would be very awful if you had to work like up to the week or two weeks before delivery

It was really difficult for me because of my small size/height/weight. Maybe wouldn't say it was a bad experience but it was a lot of trouble for me.
