No I think you have fundamentally misunderstood him. Your problem is taking an unreliable narrator at face value. If you analyze a bit deeper it's more complicated than that. His dad was white and his mom was Asian. In vast majority such pairings the Asian mother hates or at least looks down on Asian men (hence why they got with a white dude) and many of the white people who fuck Asian women ALSO look down on Asian men as less masculine, weaker, betas, etc. Then their children come up looking Asian.
